The Government Site Builder (GSB) 11 marks a significant step in the digital transformation of the German federal administration: the current version 11 is now based entirely on the open source content management system TYPO3.

This decision not only promotes digital sovereignty, but also enables a more efficient, secure and accessible design of public institution websites. Thanks to the widespread use of TYPO3 in the federal administration, easy migration and quick familiarisation are expected.

GSB 11 also benefits from an active open source community in German-speaking countries, which ensures continuous further development and security updates. With planned long-term support for three years, GSB 11 offers a reliable and future-proof solution for the digital communication of government agencies.
