I appreciate the Web-Vision team for their consistently respectful and trusting collaboration. Their friendly and reliable support, their excellent responsiveness at all times, and their goal-oriented approach characterized the project from start to finish. I look forward to continuing this successful collaboration with them in the future.
With the relaunch of the MEK website, the existing TYPO3 site was technically updated, structurally reorganized, and expanded to include flexible content elements. The focus was on clearer user navigation, a modern education section with a mega menu, revamped contact and career features, and new modules for downloads and marketing materials.
The Matomo analysis shows a significant improvement in quality following the go-live: Although visits were lower during the comparison period, page views remained nearly stable, the bounce rate decreased, and goal conversions increased from 210 to 277. The conversion rate improved from 1.84% to 2.76%.
The profile records were automatically created and linked using the LDAP extension based on FE user records. The data was then enriched either via self-service using the integrated front-end editor by BZ MEK staff themselves or centrally via the web editorial team.
The Academic Person Extension thus also serves as the basis for the directory of individuals or for linking contact persons for news, press releases, or research projects. The additional “Contact for Pages” extension enables seamless linking to any page type in the TYPO3 system.
Conclusion
The MEK Training Center has opted for a future with modern TYPO3 features and extensions. These extensions, originally developed for universities, demonstrate that they also provide significant added value in a vocational training context for instructors, trainees, and those who may wish to become trainees.
The relaunch has yielded measurable benefits, including increased page views per user, a lower bounce rate, and—most importantly—a significantly higher conversion rate.
Thanks to the redesign, the website now has a modern look, and with ongoing support from web-vision, it is well-prepared for all future developments in TYPO3.
