In der Nacht vom 6. auf 7.1.2010 haben wir auf sämtlichen Server ein wichtiges Kernel-Update eingespielt. Der Kernel ist die elementare Basis des Betriebssystems und erfordert bei Aktualisierung ein Reboot des Servers um den Kernel zu aktivieren. Nachfolgend diepdatebeschreibung in Englisch.

UPDATES DESCRIPTION

The updated Virtuozzo Containers 4.0 kernel includes fixes for the following
stability and compatibility issues:

• A potential crash in NFS may occur if an application tries to write to a file using an uninitialized variable.
• A kernel crash may occur when flushing pages to the disk in the background.
• When restaring the network, Containers based on the Fedora 12 OS templatemay not automatically bring up loopback interfaces

BUGS FIXED

The following bugs from the previous release have been fixed in the new kernel:

• #459429: Oops in NFS while writing to a file.
• #459261: Bug in CFQ under a high IO load.
• #459366: No IPv4 loopback address on 'Fedora 12'-based Containers after restarting the network.
